Welcome to the WPTDS Amsterdam Main Event

Today sees the start of the flagship event of the WPTDeepStacks Amsterdam Festival, the Main Event, get underway. At 1:30 pm local time, players will descend on Holland Casino Amsterdam to take part in the event that will play out over the next four days.

Last year, Christos Economides took the WPTDS Amsterdam title, trophy and secured himself a €74,760 payday after beating a field of 250 players and denying Paul Theobald the victory after defeating him heads up.

In the first of three starting flights, players receive 30,000 chips in exchange for their €1,200 buy-in. There will be 12 40-minute levels on the clock and late registration is open until the start of Level 10.

Tomorrow will see Days 1b and 1c take place, with Day 1b an exact replica of today’s flight. Day 1c offers players a ‘fast-chance’ option (20-minute blinds) to try to make it through to Day 2, which takes place on Saturday, 14 March. In addition, players can take a single re-entry in each flight, which makes a total of six entries available across the tournament.
