Over the course of three starting flights, 315 entrants have been whittled down to just 99 in the WPTDeepStacks Brussels Main Event. There are plenty of stories left untold and names ready for glory here in Belgium, and everyone’s eyes will be looking towards continuing their journey towards the title and thousands of euros in prize money.

Leading the way at the start of Day 2 is Gianluca Bucchino (pictured above) who bagged an astounding 360,000 on Day 1a, and wasn’t even remotely challenged, with only one other player, Patrick Prijot, bagging above 200,000; Prijot bagged 200,000 exactly.

Other big stacks include Day 1b chip leader Roland Rozel (196,200) and Day 1c chip leader Mourad Tounnouti (194,000).

There is still plenty of home interest, with big names such as Bart Lybaert (156,000) and Jerome Sgorrano (150,300) in contention. Former WPTDS Champions Ioannis Angelou-Konstas (140,000) along with former WPTDS final tablists Pedro Cairat (138,500) and Gregory Janin (73,400) will be in the field.

However, watch out for a potential rematch of last November’s WPTDS final table. Not only is Sgorrano through but defending champion Laurent Polito (59,900) and runner-up Leonardo Armino (98,900) could potentially cross swords once again here in the Belgian capital.

With the prize pool announced shortly after play resumes, stay tuned to WPT.com for all the action here on Day 2 of the WPTDeepStacks Brussels Main Event.
