"Why I Love Poker" by Maria Krebs

Yesterday was the conclusion of the two-day LearnWPT Workshop here at the Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa, and one of those students was Maria Krebs, who won her way here in PlayWPT’s “Why I Love Poker” contest.

There were hundreds of people who entered the contest by submitting their personal stories of why they love poker, and Krebs won with her touching story of how poker gave her a special connection to her father after he developed Alzheimer’s disease.

Check out Maria’s story in the video below, and you’ll find yourself rooting for her now that she’s in the field here on Day 1B. That’s right, in addition to the LearnWPT Workshop, Maria won an entry into the $3,500 WPT Borgata Poker Open, and she currently has about 21,000 in chips (105 big blinds).
