Will Dwyte Pilgrim Shock the World Again?

Four years ago, Dwyte Pilgrim had been crushing non-televised poker events, but was still looking for a breakout victory on a big stage in a major event.

Then, Pilgrim entered the 2010 WPT Borgata Poker Open — the biggest WPT event in history to that point with 1,042 entrants, and he made a deep run. And it was impossible to miss his larger-than-life personality. As he got deeper in the event, Pilgrim started talking about destiny and was openly calling his shot that he would win the WPT title and shock the world.

Fulfilling his promise, he won that WPT title (pictured above) as the TV poker audience was introduced to Dwyte Pilgrim. Pilgrim’s name is now engraved on the WPT Champions Cup alongside legends like Doyle Brunson, Phil Ivey, and Daniel Negreanu.

Pilgrim is in the field here at Borgata (pictured below), and is now looking to become the first player in WPT history to win the same event twice. Can Dwyte Pilgrim shock the world again?
