WPT Ambassador Brad Owen Headlines Thursday’s Final 8 of Gardens Poker Championship

May 25, 2023

Brad Owens

Is Thursday the day Brad Owen makes his first official WPT final table?

The WPT ambassador has five WPT Main Event cashes to his name, including a 35th place run in the 2022 WPT World Championship that saw him earn a career-best tournament score of $99,600, but with just eight players remaining in the Gardens Poker Championship, this is the closest Owen has been to World Poker Tour glory.

The superstar poker vlogger currently sits 5th of the eight that return Thursday at noon Pacific time. Owen holds 1,175,000 chips, which is good for 15 big blinds at what is a very shallow final table except for the two players topping the chip counts, Ryan Salunga with 5,775,000 (77 bb), and Chris Lee with 4,000,000 (53 bb). Blinds will be 50,000/75,000 with a 75,000 big blind ante when play resumes.

WPT Gardens Poker Championship Final Table Chip Counts:

Seat 1: Ryan Salunga – 5,775,000 (77 bb)

Seat 4: Thomas Choi – 1,075,000 (14 bb)

Seat 6: Chris Lee – 4,000,000 (53 bb)
Seat 7: Joshua Lachman – 675,000 (9 bb)
Seat 8: Joseph Deluca – 1,475,000 (19 bb)

Owen and the seven other remaining players have all locked up at least $42,200 for their efforts thus far, but there remain a couple of things on their minds.

First, surviving two more eliminations to earn their seat at that official WPT final table Saturday at the HyperX arena at Luxor in Las Vegas. Then ultimately, the title, the glory, the $357,380 first prize, and their name immortalized on the Mike Sexton Champions Cup.

WPT Gardens Poker Championship Remaining Payouts:

1st place: $375,380*
2nd place: $230,000
3rd place: $169,000
