WPT Bay 101 Shooting Star Set to Begin!

Mar 7, 2016

For the 13th straight season, the World Poker Tour is back in San Jose, California for the WPT Bay 101 Shooting Star.

Last season, Taylor Paur topped a field of 708 entries and a terrific final table that included two shooting stars (Sorel Mizzi and Faraz Jaka), capturing a first-place prize of $1,214,200.

The buy-in is $7,500 and over the course of two starting days, players are allowed a total of one re-entry which can be used at any time before the start of Level 11.

Eliminating a shooting star from the tournament is worth $2,500, and there is also an end-of-day chip leader bonus of $10,000 for each starting flight. We will provide a full and updated list of the shooting stars and which starting flight they will be playing when we are given that information.

Here is the schedule for the week ahead:

Day 1A: Monday, March 7 (11 one-hour levels, start at 11 a.m.)
Day 1B: Tuesday, March 8 (11 one-hour levels, start at 11 a.m.)
Day 2: Wednesday, March 9 (play down to final 36 or tournament director’s discretion, 60-minute levels through Level 14, 90 minute levels after, start at 11 a.m.)
Day 3: Thursday, March 10 (play down to final table of six, start at noon)
Final Table: Friday, March 11 (start at 4 p.m.)

The cards will be in the air at 11 a.m. local time, so be sure to keep it here for live updates on the action as the quest to crown the latest WPT Champion begins!
