WPTDS Portugal Reunion for Francisco Lopes and Omar Lakhdari

Francisco Lopes
It’s been four months since WPTDeepStacks Portugal, but playing heads-up against an opponent for €65,633 sticks in the memory. As does the identity of your heads-up opponent! Francisco Lopes played yesterday, but unfortunately was eliminated.

“I check-shoved with blockers,” said Lopes today as he headed to rebuy, “Have you seen Omar [Lakhdari]?” he asked.

Like we said, you always remember who you beat heads-up. We pointed Lakhdari out to Lopes who headed over and shook the hand of his opponent.

“Nice stack,” remarked Lopes. Lakhdari is notorious for having a haphazard mess of chips in front of him. Several times at the final table in Portugal his stack needed to be counted and rearranged, and it appears that is still the case.

“Thanks,” replied Lakhdari, “Rebuy?” he asked, and Lopes nodded.

We will have to wait and see who will come out on top this time around.
