Xizhen Huang leads the way for the final table

After nearly 12 hours of live poker action at the Crown Poker Club in the heart of Ha Noi, the record-breaking 2023 World Poker Tour Prime Vietnam Main Event has reached the final nine players out of a field of 1,151 entries. China dominates the final table line-up with three hopefuls in contention for the biggest slice of the VND 25,343,869,000 ($1,079,611) prize pool.

Xizhen Huang leads the way with 7,625,000 thanks to a late surge in the final stages of the night while fellow countrymen Yuhan “Hans” Liu (4,675,000) and Jinlong Hu (3,575,000) also have respectable stack sizes at their disposal.

Duy Thuc Nguyen was the long-time chip leader ever since the redraw of the final three tables took place and is the only local player from Vietnam to try and keep the brand new Prime Champions Cup on home soil. He returns with the third-biggest stack of 4,950,000.

The two Aussies Phillip Nguyen (2,700,000) and Julian Warhurst (2,300,000) can be found in the middle of the pack alongside South Korea’s Jaeho Lee (2,450,000).

All nine finalists will return to their seats on the feature table at noon local time on Monday, May 29, 2023, to determine a winner in the one year anniversary event of the mid-stakes tour. There are 47:49 minutes left in level 27 at blinds of 50,000-100,000 and big blind ante of 100,000, which makes for an average of 38 big blinds.

The final table will be broadcasted across all WPT social media channels with cards-up coverage and commentary on a 30-minute security delay.
