Day 1a of the WPT Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown placed an astounding 712 entries into the field. More than one-third of those players advanced to Sunday’s Day 2 led by Davian Santana’s 318,000. The $3 million guarantee is a lock to be hit early on in Saturday’s Day 1b and the next barrier will be to see if the field can reach last season’s total of 1,309 entries.

Santana (pictured) is far from the only player to bag a sizable amount with a day off tomorrow. Season XV WPT Champions Club Member Daniel Strelitz put 252,000 into his bag and looks forward to an off day tomorrow at the Seminole Hard Rock property.

“I’m actually super-happy for the day off tomorrow,” said Strelitz (pictured.) “I was thinking about not re-entering and just playing tomorrow, but then I went to dinner break and I was like, ‘I’d still rather play four levels and I can still re-enter tomorrow if I need to.'”

Strelitz will enjoy his off day as will fellow Champions Club members Tyler Patterson (248,500), Asher Conniff (224,500), David ODB Baker (204,500), and Season XIV Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown winner Justin Young (160,500).

WPT Players of the Year Mukul Pahuja (196,000) and Season XVI WPT Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown runner-up Faraz Jaka (195,500) both advanced with healthy stacks.

Day 1b begins tomorrow at 11 a.m. ET, with registration open until about 9 p.m. with unlimited re-entries.
