Day 2 has come to a close at the World Poker Tour Bay 101 Shooting Star $7,500 Main Event and there are 36 players remaining from the field of 708. The total field size and prize pool were set today when registration closed at the start of play. The total prize pool is $5,026,800 and the champion will take home $1,214,200 on Friday.

The chip leader at the end of play is Imad Allahham with 1,717,000. Other top stacks were bagged up by Taylor Paur (1,096,000), Giacomo Fundaro (1,082,000), Eric Werner (1,060,000), and Chane Kampanatsanyakorn (1,049,000). Big names still in the hunt include WPT Champions Club members Shawn Buchanan and Steve Brecher. There are still four Shooting Stars left in the field, including Chris Moorman, Sorel Mizzi, Faraz Jaka, and BLUFF.com WPT Ones to Watch Garrett Greer.

The money bubble burst when 72 players (min-cash $13,940) remained today from the 269 players that returned. Notables that cashed included Steven Levy (70th), Tom Koral (69th), David Randall (68th), Dan Kelly (67th), Kane Kalas (66th), Mike Leah (64th), Ravi Raghavan (60th), Adam Geyer (58th), Carlos Mortensen (52nd), Brian Rast (51st), Jordan Cristos (50th), Matt Affleck (48th), Dan O’Brien (47th), Justin Young (46th), Ryan D’ Angelo (42nd), and Rep Porter (37th).
