Gioco Digitale WPT National Venice has come to a close at the world’s oldest casino crowning its new local champion, Amedeo Chieregato. In conjunction with Tilt Events, 330 entries took to the tables in the city of Venice to claim their share of €288,090. Chieregato battled his way through four days of intense poker action to take home €65,000 and the coveted glass WPT National trophy.

The final table didn’t disappoint with seats full of famous Italian players including WPT Champions Club member Andrea Dato and Max Pescatori both who fell short of the victory in Venice. The final two players on the table were Chieregato and Cancian playing heads up poker until the early hours but with Chieregato having a huge chip lead it was only going to end one way.

Noteable players taking their seats in the spectacular city of Venice included 1st on GPI’s Italy all-time money list Max Pescatori, WPT Champions Club member Rocco Pulumbo and Andrea Dato plus well known Italian players Dario SanMartino and Giovanni Rizzo.

Global Poker Index Team Italy champions returned home for a victorious celebration ceremony. Dario San Martino, Andrea Dato and Rocco Palumbo were met to rapturous applause as they entered the tournament floor of WPT National Venice. Dato and Palumbo make an extra special return to Casino Di Venezia as they are not only Team Italy winners but also WPT Champions crowned right here at this very place in Season X and XII.
