World Poker Tour’s Main Tour kicks off 2014 in style with the year’s first visit to the Borgata Hotel, Casino & Spa for the televised WPT® Borgata Winter Poker Open beginning January 26.

Boasting a $3 million guarantee, this $3,500 tournament traditionally draws some of World Poker Tour’s largest fields, with Season XI’s event attracting 1,042 entrants and generating a prize pool of more than $3.3 million and a first-place prize of more than $730,000.

“We’ve always had tremendous turnouts for our Borgata events and this year, with the return of legal online poker in New Jersey, we expect a record-setting field thanks to sites like partypoker.com and BorgataPoker.com, which are allowing players to qualify for this – and other future WPT events – from the comforts of their homes,” said WPT President, Adam Pliska.

Borgata’s two-week Winter Poker Open starts with a $500 + $50 event on January 14 and culminates with the televised, $3,500 WPT Winter Poker Open Championship event beginning Sunday, January 26. Sponsored by ClubWPT.com, the Championship event features two Day 1s and re-entry. Players in New Jersey can win WPT Borgata Winter Poker Open prize packages by playing online at both NJ.partypoker.com and BorgataPoker.com before competing to reach the televised final table, which will be recorded for broadcast on FOX Sports Network.

As always, Borgata offers players a wide range of fine dining and entertainment options to keep them entertained during their stay. Restaurants such as Izakaya or Bobby Flay Steak offer gourmet dining experiences while venues like B Bar, Gypsy Bar, and mur.mur provide some of Atlantic City’s hottest nightlife.

At 11pm on Monday, January 27, all players in the WPT Winter Poker Open Championship event are invited to mur.mur where they can enjoy complimentary bottle service and an evening of late-night clubbing with the WPT cast. WPT will host its Champions Club members Wednesday, January 29, when they are invited to join the cast at a private dinner at Bobby Flay Steak starting at 8pm.
