Day 1A has come to a close at the World 16197178404_2b015be3ab_zPoker Tour Rolling Thunder $3,500 Main Event and about 69 players have advanced from the field of 181 that entered on Saturday. Players that entered today (even if they survived) can re-enter on Day 1B tomorrow any time before the close of registration at the start of Level 7 (approximately 7:30 pm PT). If a player survives both starting days, their largest stack will carry forward to Day 2.

The Day 1A chipleader is BLUFF.com Ones to Watch Daniel Strelitz (pictured) with 231,200. Other top stacks were bagged up by Eric Matulis (218,900), WPT Champions Club member Jordan Cristos (190,200), and WPT Champions Club member Darren Elias (181,700).

Big names that also advanced today were recent Bay 101 Shooting Star champion Taylor Paur (who lives nearby in El Dorado Hills, CA and bagged up 100,000 even), Season XIII WPT Player of the Year points leader Anthony Zinno (39,600), and WPT Commentator Mike Sexton (22,300).

Notables that didn’t advance today include Champions Club members Mohsin Charania, Keven Stammen, Kevin Eyster, Ravi Raghavan, Chino Rheem, Aaron Mermelstein, Dylan Wilkerson, and defending WPT Rolling Thunder champion JC Tran. As you can see by the tweet below, Tran plans to return tomorrow for Day 1B.
