Day 1A is in the books at the partypoker.net WPT Montreal Main Event at the Playground Poker Club in the province of Quebec, Canada. There are 45 players that have advanced to Day 2 on Sunday, November 23 from 133 entrants (including three partypoker qualifiers). The chip leader at the end of play tonight, and the recipient of a pair of Monster DNA headphones, is Scott Clements (pictured above) with 266,500.

Rounding out the top stacks are Samuel Chartier (200,300), Elliot Smith (197,600), Will Molson (185,400), and Connor Drinan (155,400). The notables that have survived include Yann Dion (who won a specialty pair of Monster partypoker headphones as the chip leader at the dinner break), current Season XIII Player of the Year race leader Darren Elias, Season XII WPT POY Mukul Pahuja, Shannon Shorr, WPT Raw Deal Analyst Tony Dunst, Kevin MacPhee, David Tuthill, Jeff Gross, Keven Stammen, Eugene Katchalov, and Michael Gracz.

We lost some familiar faces today as well, but Antonio Esfandiari, Jeff Madsen, Jonathan Jaffe, Chanracy Khun, Byron Kaverman, Lee Markholt, Pascal Lefrancois, Kara Scott, Anthony Zinno, Ben Tarzia, Todd Terry, and former WPT Montreal champion Jonathan Roy will all have a chance to re-enter on Day 1B on Friday.

You can catch all of the big hands, chip counts, photos, and videos from Day 1B Friday from the WPT Live Updates team beginning at 11 a.m. ET. That ‘s it for tonight from the wonderful city of Montreal.
