Day 3 at the WPT Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown will kick off today with 114 players advancing from the record-setting field of 1,795 that began this event a few days ago.

The chip leader at the end of play last night was Richard Kirsch with 1,734,000. Other top stacks were bagged up by Matt Stout (1,402,000), Daniel Navarrete (1,400,000), Julian Thomas (1,199,000), and Barry Hutter (1,120,000).

The money bubble burst when 170 players remained and those who cashed included Danny Suied, Corrie Wunstel, Kunal Patel, Keven Stammen, Stuart Patterson, Ronit Chamani, Ryan D’Angelo, Joe Kuether, Ben Hamnett, Curt Kohlberg, and Ben Zamani.

The tournament sent a large number of players to the rail yesterday as the starting field of 673 shrunk all the way down close to the final 100. The biggest names lost included WPT Champions Club members Michael Mizrachi, Scotty Nguyen, Will Failla, Phil Laak, Jonathan Little, and Eugene Katchalov, along with defending champion Kevin Eyster and the WPT’s own Tony Dunst and Mike Sexton.

The remaining field will return at 12:00 PM EDT today (in about 30 minutes) to play down deep into the money, and the WPT Live Updates team will be there to bring you all of the action in live updates, chip counts, and photos from South Florida.
