And then there were three. At the close of WPT World Championship – Part 2 last night on FSN, three players remained seated at the WPT World Championship final table, but all eyes were on the newcomer, Marvin “MadMarvin” Rettenmaier. What started as an impressive chip lead for Rettenmaier at the beginning of the episode over the rest of the table turned into utter dominance by the time Nick Schulman was eliminated in fourth place. At the close of play, Rettenmaier had more than three times the number of chips  (11,575,000) as Michael “The Grinder” Mizrachi in second (1,925,000) and Philippe Ktorza in third (1,740,000) combined. That’s a big lead.

For a little more on our new chip leader, take a look at this profile of Rettenmaier from last night’s episode:

And a three-way all-in hand featuring Rettenmaier, Mizrachi and Steve O’Dwyer, who exited in fifth place ($192,176):

The episode ended with Rettenmaier dispatching the aforementioned Schulman in fourth place ($256,235) and taking his 2.7 million chip stack, which catapulted MadMarvin up to the 11.5 million mark where he sits at the end of the episode. There was a lot of action in the episode and impressive play from MadMarvin at his first WPT final table, so make sure to tune in next week at 8pm & 11pm local time to catch the thrilling conclusion of World Poker Tour Season X on FSN.
