Day 4 of WPT Venice Grand Prix has come to an end with the six players who will make up the WPT Televised Final Table finally set. The man who will make his way to that final table with the chip lead is Marcello Montagner, with 1.8 million, and he will be joined by WPT Host Mike Sexton. The only member of the final six not to hail from Italy.

Here’s the full list of players with chip counts:

Seat 1 – Xia Lin – 309,000
Seat 2 – Rocco Palumbo – 406,000
Seat 3 – Mike Sexton – 1,079,000
Seat 4 – Erion Islamay – 406,000
Seat 5 – Marcello Montagner – 1,805,000
Seat 6 – Robert Begni – 1,203,000

The final table starts tomorrow at 14:30 and the action will be available either through WPT Live Updates, or via WPT Live Stream in both English and Italian, respectively hosted by Jesse May and GicoDigitale.it Team Pro Giovanni Rizzo.

Day 4 started with 18 players left, and before it kicked off WPT Live Updates had the chance to catch up with both PartyPoker Pros Kara Scott and Mike Sexton, who both randomly started with the exact same chip count.

Unfortunately, Kara hit the rail in 13th place for a cash of €7200, followed by Winamax pro Ludovic Lacay (12th – €8,750).

The most striking moment of the day happened when WPT Grand Prix de Paris Champion Matt Salsberg called his opponent all-in on the turn, hoping double his stack with the set of 3s he hit on the flop. Unfortunately, a king on the river gave his opponent, Montagner, a straight, which spoiled Matt’s dream of a final table ( 7th for €20,800 ). However, his exit in 7th place means he is now tied with Paul Volpe atop the WPT Player of the Year lederboard, but that will be scant consolation for Salsberg.
