The capital city of the Netherlands, Amsterdam is home to gorgeous canals, world-class museums, unique architecture, and vibrant nightlife. World Poker Tour jets to De Dam on this weekend for the €3,300 buy-in WPT Amsterdam at Holland Casino, and unlike other European destinations, the city has many affordable offerings for tourists to enjoy!

Here is a list of activities that you can enjoy in Amsterdam for less than one single, orange, €50 note.

Rent a Bike (€7,50)

The most popular mode of transportation in Amsterdam, biking is a fun way to traverse the many bridges of the city and try to fit in with the locals. For just €7.50 for three hours (or €9.75 for 24 hours), you can rent a pedal bike from MacBike. Bikes are available for pickup and drop off at Central Station, Overtoom, Leidseplein, Oosterdokskade, and Waterlooplein.

Visit the Van Gogh Museum (€17,00)

A must-attend attraction in Amsterdam, the world-class Van Gogh Museum features the largest collection of works from legendary Dutch post-impressionist painter. The museum also features specially discussions and workshops.

Visit the Anne Frank Museum (€9,50)

One of the world’s most interesting historical landmarks, the Anne Frank Museum is a powerful exhibit with tremendous artifacts. The queue is well worth the wait for this unforgettable experience.

Eat Hagelslag (€3,75)

Americans have peanut butter and jelly, the Aussies fancy vegemite, and the Dutch feast on Hagelslag. Yes, grown men and women in Holland eat sprinkles on toast every day, and it’s amazing. In fact, the Dutch consume more than 750,000 slices of bread with Hagelslag on top of them each day. If you have a sweet tooth, this is the perfect snack for you.

Eat a Febomenu (€6,70)

For the price of just one burger at other European establishments, you can enjoy an entire Febomenu at the extremely popular FEBO. Founded in 1941, there are 22 FEBO shops in Amsterdam alone. And don’t forget to order some mayonnaise for your french fries, or, as the Dutch would call them, patat met.

Have a Pint at Brouwerij ‘t IJ (€2,50)

One of many local pubs and breweries, Brouwerij ‘t IJ features various beers at extremely affordable prices. In many major cities across the U.S. and Europe you have to time your drinking activities just right to buy a drink for this cheap, but not here. As one local put it on TripAdvisior: “This keeps you coming back. Great beers and great atmosphere in a beautiful location!”

Enjoy the Parks and Sights (€0)

Believe it or not, there are also tons of things to do in Amsterdam for the price of free 99. Gratis. Take a stroll through Vondelpark or Amsterdamse Bos, or just get lost biking along the canals and through the busy streets of the city. You can even take a trip to the Red Light District just to, ahem, see the sights.

Best of luck to everyone participating in WPT Amsterdam at Holland Casino. Remember, you can register for all of the events online by heading here.
