The inaugural WPTDeepStacks hosted by partypoker.eu online series has been running for just over a week now. With a jam-packed schedule of tournaments on offer from April 6-20, two of the series’ biggest highlights got underway over the Easter weekend – The Platinum Championship and the Elite Championship. Both were highroller tournaments and both took place exclusively on partypoker.fr.

The first of those tournaments was the Platinum Championship on April 12, which attracted 182 entries (including reentries), each of whom stumped up the €500 buy-in to take a shot at winning a proportion of the €100,000 prizepool! Players battled for almost nine hours and at the end of it ‘KAgoulAKboul’ was the one who managed to go the distance, taking the trophy and the €22,130 top prize after beating ‘pomsky90’ (€15,900) heads up.

The result puts ‘KAgoulAKboul’ into the top twenty earners of the year so far on the network, boosting them up into 17th place. The competition was fierce with many accomplished players in the running including ‘stroposauce’, who netted €8,300 for fourth place, and ‘TOUTSURLEROUGE’ who just missed out on a final table spot, taking €2,000 for 9th place.

‘CallM3Daddy’, who finished runner up in the €100 Opener Main Event last week, mincashed for €1,330, proving they are a formidable player and continuing to add to their profits for the series. Though they may have been disappointed with the result, they certainly had a better evening than ‘Carnacier’ who bubbled the tournament. Still, it is not all bad news for them as they have been dominating in the online satellites and we may well see them return in another of the higher buy-in events.

Final table results for the Platinum Championship:

1 KAgoulAKboul €22,130
2 pomsky90 €15.9K
3 Le Sonotone €11.6K
4 stroposauce €8.3K
5 OmarSyck €5.8K
6 Eleganceduraise €4.5K
7 La-Dinguerie €3.5K
8 JouTouPaye €2,750

Last night saw the largest buy-in event get going with the €1,000 Elite Championship getting underway at 7 pm (CEST). A huge €107,350 prize pool was created by 133 entries (including reentries) and this time the top two players took advantage of the deal-making available and each walked away more than €20,000 better off as a result!

‘Artconix’ ultimately prevailed and secured themselves €23,161 in prizemoney after denying ‘lOrDy94’ (€21,926) the title and trophy. That finish has raised ‘Artconix’ up in the rankings, moving up into third place on the network’s 2020 leaderboard. Not only that, they are closing in on a top ten spot for France’s online leaderboard rankings, currently sat just outside of that in 11th place.

Once again there were some well-established players in the field, including ‘Lebordelaii.’, who though didn’t quite reach the final table, exiting in 10th place for €2,684, did take down a side event the night before, netting €2,519 for first place in Event #22: €100 6-Max Hyper (€10,000 guaranteed).

Final table results for the Elite Championship:

1 Artconix €23,161
2 lOrDy94 €21,926
3 BernardTapis17 €13,419
4 LOL_BRM_ €9,393
5 easymonnet €6,978
6 Tinoisette €5,368
7 Isilmou13 €4,294
8 La-Dinguerie €3,489

There is a lot still to look forward to but none more so than the €250 Main Event, which has an enormous €500,000 guarantee. There are still plenty of chances to get involved as starting flights run daily right up until Day 2 takes place on Monday, April 20 (CEST), and the tournament offers players a single entry per flight.

The €2,000 Prestige is also still to come and offers the highest buy-in of the highroller series*. It comes with a cool €100,000 guarantee of its own too.
