Konstantin Held 2024 WPT Cambodia Champion poker tournament with Mike Sexton Cup

Phnom Penh, Cambodia (Jan. 29, 2024) The first World Poker Tour® festival of 2024 is in the books, and it was Konstantin Held coming out on top of the first-ever WPT Cambodia Championship event. Konstantin earned his first WPT® title and a grand payout of $361,310, which includes a $10,400 seat to the 2024 WPT World Championship at Wynn Las Vegas.

“Over the moon. Honestly, over the moon,” Held said when asked how he felt after the win. “It has been an insane journey to end up heads up with a good friend of mine. We just enjoyed our time. We were all having a blast. And the experience here was great. I love the venue. I think NagaWorld is great. It’s been amazing to come to Cambodia.”

A total of 760 players from two starting flights – 373 from Day 1A and 387 from Day 1B – made up the $3,500 buy-in Championship event at NagaWorld Integrated Resort. The field generated a prizepool of $4,630,400, which paid out the top 95 finishers.

“WPT Cambodia was a special festival. Not only did it open the 2024 season, but it also marked the first time the Mike Sexton WPT Champions Cup was presented in Southeast Asia,” said WPT CEO Adam Pliska. “Konstantin will forever be the first player to claim a WPT Champions Club title in the region.”

Joshua McCully finished in second place for a prize of $277,291 and Florent Remi placed third for $302,019 after the final three players negotiated a deal to even out the remaining payouts, while still competing for the trophy and title. Rounding out the rest of the final table was Motoyoshi Okamura (4th place – $157,858), Amit Kaushik (5th place – $118,906) and Kyle Bao Diep (6th place – $90,532).

Other notable players to cash were WPT Commentator and WPT Champion Tony Dunst (14th place), 2018 WPT Korea winner Valeriy Pak (57th place), WPT Champion Masato Yokosawa (61st place), and Punnat Punsri (89th place).
