Lansing Ends Her Reign with a Celebratory Send Off at the Televised WPT Foundation Ladies Night Final Table on September 5

After three seasons as anchor of World Poker Tour’s weekly broadcasts, and the first female anchor of a major poker series, Kimberly Lansing is stepping down from her perch. Lynn Gilmartin, anchor of the new WPT Alpha8 super-high roller series on FOX Sports 1, will take over for Lansing in the anchor booth beginning with World Poker Tour’s first televised event of Season XII, the WPT Legends of Poker currently being held at the Bicycle Casino.

“Kimberly will always be part of the WPT family, even if she’s no longer sitting in the anchor’s chair,” said WPT President, Adam Pliska. “We’re saddened by her departure as Kim helped define the anchor role and elevate the World Poker Tour episodes to another level. We’re thrilled that Lynn is able to step in and carry on the tradition of providing the expertise and fun Kim has brought to our events and broadcasts over the past few years.”

“Joining the WPT team for Alpha8 was dream come true,” said Gilmartin. “Kimberly is someone I’ve admired since I first started working in poker and now, to follow her on the WPT? I have some huge shoes to fill and am overwhelmingly honored to be given this opportunity.”

Lansing will make her final appearance in front of the WPT cameras on September 5 when she takes her seat at the televised WPT Foundation Ladies’ Night Invitational, where she will join four of the best female players in the world including Vanessa Rousso, Lily Kileto, Jessica Dawley, and Liz Lieu. The sixth seat will be occupied by Sunny Joo Chen, who earned her place at the table by winning the LIPS US Ladies Poker Championship event at the Bicycle Casino on September 1.

The six women at the WPT Foundation Ladies’ Night Invitational final table will be playing to raise money and awareness for a variety of worthy women’s charities including Dr. Susan Love Research Foundation, Breast Cancer Awareness Association, Rape Abuse & Incest National Network (RAINN), We Advance, the National Council for Research on Women, and Domestic Violence Project of the Legal Aid Society of Palm Beach County. This special WPT Foundation event will be televised on FOX Sports Network in early 2014.
