Sunday, October 21, saw the first of the three online starting flights hosted on partypoker for WPT500 Montreal, featuring a C$550 buy-in and C$1 million guarantee before live play will take center stage at the Playground Poker Club on Friday, October 26. Players have the opportunity to partake in any of the flights with one re-entry allowed per Day 1. Friday, Saturday, and Sunday will see two Day 1 flights on each day commencing at 12 p.m. (EDT), and 6 p.m. (EDT). There will also be a turbo flight beginning on Monday, October 29, at 10 a.m. (EDT), before Day 2 begins at 3 p.m. (EDT) and will continue until the WPT500 Montreal final table is reached.
Across the three online Day 1 flights of WPT500 Montreal, a total of 213 entrants took a seat throughout the opening days. Day 1A (Online) saw Robert ‘nutsonly89’ Petronio lead the remaining 15 players from 81 entrants with 329,064. Day 1B (Online) saw Pierre-Marc ‘Chaz1515’ Chadi top the final 11 players from 56 entrants with 226,958 in chips. Day 1C (Online) saw just 19 players survive the 76 entrants, and it would be Michael ‘pl4yonlynuts’ Khan leading with 364,099 in chips. Season XVI WPT Fallsview Champion Mike ‘GOLEAFSGOEH’ Leah and Season VI WPT Mandalay Bay Poker Championship Winner Shawn ‘buck82’ Buchanan both bagged 193,332 and 148,954 respectively on Day 1B (Online). Season XI WPT Canadian Spring Championship winner Amir ‘de_maarr’ Babakhani ended Day 1C (Online) with 71,897 in chips. Also surviving into Day 2 is Season XII WPT Player of the Year Mukul ‘ACNB24’ Pahuja who collected 108,140 in chips on Day 1A (Online).
