Yesterday, during Day 2 of WPT World Championship, Mukul Pahuja successfully wrapped up the WPT Season XII Player of the Year award when Shaun Suller, the only player that could’ve caught him, busted out of the event.

Pahuja’s results over the course of the year were far more consistent than his facial hair. He cashed five times, made three final tables (plus one near miss), and he was heads-up for a WPT title on two different occasions. Here’s a look at his $1.4 million season:

partypoker WPT Montreal – 2nd place ($340,928)
WPT Lucky Hearts Poker Open – 8th place ($36,147)
WPT L.A. Poker Classic – 30th place ($36,400)
WPT Bay 101 Shooting Star – 4th place ($320,800)
WPT Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown – 2nd place ($691,965)

Pahuja becomes only the third WPT Player of the Year to achieve that feat without winning a title in the same season. His 3,450 POY points are a record under the current scoring system, and his three final tables tie him with the likes of Negreanu and Ivey for most in a season, as well. Congratulations to Mukul, we’re sure we’ll see plenty more of him.
