Last night, Olympic swimming great Michael Phelps sent out the following seemingly innocuous tweet:

To most it would seem like a random collection of letters, just Phelps retweeting one of thousands of tweets he must see each day with a quick note to the original author. However, those in the poker world saw it for what it was, a shoutout to one of the players at the final table of WPT Parx Open Poker Classic, set to take place today at Parx Casino. That player, Tony Gregg (who finished 2nd at PCA in 2009 for $1.5 million), goes into the final table second in chips out of six players and responded to Phelps with this note:

Phelps association with the poker world is long-documented. He has played multiple events over the years and even has his own Hendon Mob profile. Will Phelps show up at the WPT final table to rail his fellow Marylander? If he does, there’s seating available at the WPT televised final set for him and any other spectators that may want to head down to catch the action.

The final table at WPT Parx Open Poker Classic will feature a lot of talent aside from the aforementioned Gregg as we’ll see a WPT veteran and WSOP bracelet winner (Chris Lee) plus a couple of local Philadelphia players (Chris Vandeursen and Larry Sharp) all around the table this afternoon.

Here are the chip counts at the final table:

1. Stephen Reynolds- 4,035,000
2. Tony Gregg- 3,600,000
3. Chris Lee-3,040,000
4. Chris Vandeursen- 2,430,000
5. Andre Nyffeler-895,000
6. Larry Sharp- 870,000

The WPT final table gets under way at 4pm ET / 1pm PT and will be broadcast via WPT Live Stream at 4:30/1:30pm (live stream is on a 30 minute delay) on the WPT Live Stream page.
