Ryan Tosoc

It’s been a huge two years on the World Poker Tour for Ryan Tosoc. In December, he took down the Season XVI WPT Five Diamond World Poker Classic at Bellagio for nearly $2 million. Only a year earlier, in Season XV, Tosoc finished runner-up in the same event for $1.12 million.

Originally from Chicago, Tosoc now lives in Las Vegas and has been posting nice results in events around the city over the last couples years, and he’s now the latest subject of WPT.com’s new series “On the Button.”

What’s your favorite movie?

“Space Jam.”

What’s your favorite television show?

“Right now, Game of Thrones.”

Who is your favorite singer or band?

“I can name a couple, Maroon 5 and Zedd.”

What’s something that creeps you out?

“Bad hygiene. I’ve seen people cutting their nails at the table. It’s gross. When you play at the Rio, you kind of see everything. One time in LA, this guy was walking to the bathroom and just kind of spit all over the table.”

If you could travel anywhere in the world where would it be?

“I have yet to go to the Bahamas and my girlfriend Elena and I like the beach.”

If you weren’t playing poker for a living right now, what job would you have?

“Something related to basketball I’d say. Maybe a handicapper – betting on basketball and still in the game. Or I’d open up a club. I like the parties and stuff like that.”

What would someone be surprised to learn about you?

“I may look fierce and mad at the table at times, but I’m actually a pretty good guy.”

Are you and your girlfriend Elena a new poker power couple?

“We’ve been together since the beginning of the year, but she’s not into poker. She has no idea what’s going on at the tables. She works as a real estate agent in Los Angeles. Whenever I’m talking hands, all she says she hears is ‘Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.'”
