The season six line-up included Jason Mercier, Tobias Reinkemeier, Sam Trickett, Phil Hellmuth, Daniel Negreanu, Antonio Esfandiari, Phil Laak, Jennifer Tilly, Tony G, Scott Seiver, Daniel ‘Jungleman’ Cates, Igor Kurganov, Marvin Rettenmaier, eventual winner Dan Shak, Talal Shakerchi and Jonathan Duhamel. Last year’s record breaking partypoker WPT Montreal will return to Playground Poker Club from 29th November – 5th December 2013. Qualifiers are online now at the all new partypoker, see https://www.partypoker.com/whats-going-on/tournaments/wpt-montreal.html. The CAN$3,500 + $350 buy-in event is a key stop in Season XII of the WPT, and, for the very first time, televised. A high roller event will also be added. All of the record-breaking WPT global TV show talent which regularly attracts over one million viewers in the US on FSN will attend including Mike Sexton, Vince Van Patten, Tony Dunst, The Royal Flush Girls and new anchor Lynn Gilmartin, as players battle to get their names etched on to the prestigious WPT Champions Cup and Champions Trophy.

In November 2012 25-year-old Jonathan Roy from Boucheville, Quebec won the inaugural $3000+$300 partypoker WPT Montreal scooping CAN$779,710, the WPT Champions Cup and a US$25,500 seat in the 2013 WPT World Championship at Bellagio as Olympic legend Michael Phelps looked on from the rail! The inaugural partypoker WPT Montreal broke and set a number of records and was truly a triumphant return for the World Poker Tour to Canada after a four year absence. With 1173 entries and a total prize pool of CAN$3,387,930 it was the third largest WPT event (by number of entries) in history (8 entries off of second spot – 1st and 2nd spot both Borgata, Atlantic City). It was also the largest WPT ever in Canada. Hosts Playground Poker Club increased their total capacity by over 75% in the three months approaching the tournament and was optimistically expecting 600 players.
