Day 2 of the partypoker.net WPT National Canadian Spring Championship is officially in the books with an official count of 1,079 entries, which means that the event hit its guarantee of CAD $1 million with an official prizepool of CAD $1,046,630 (approximately USD $946,046).

The day ended with just 39 players remaining of the 311 that started the day after a very fast day of play at Playground Poker in Montreal that saw the money bubble burst at 126 when bubble girl Stephanie Goertz hit the rail guaranteeing every player remaining at least a minimum cash worth $1,569.

The notables that busted before that money bubble today included Team partypoker’s Kara Scott, Dylan Wilkeron, Laurence Grondin, Bill Kontaratos and Xuan Liu. The big names that survived the bubble to take home some cash today were Mike Leah (104th place), Amir Babakhani (75th place), Mike Sexton (74th place), Daniel Schreiber (45th), and Tony Dunst (44th place).

The chip leader at the end of play tonight is Mario Lim with 1,758,000. Other top stacks were bagged up by two-time WPT Montreal final table finisher Sylvain Siebert (1,655,000), Eric Afriat (1,700,000), and Alexander Wong (1,402,000). Other familiar faces still in the hunt for the final table include Samuel Chartier, Alexandre Lavigne, and Eric Afriat.

Tune back in today at Noon ET (about 15 minutes from now) to follow the play as we head toward the WPT final table, whose six players will be set before play ends today. The WPT Live Updates team will have all of the big hands, chip counts, and photos for you live from Canada.
