Phil Hellmuth Vegas Bound for WPT World Championship

Nobody has more World Series of Poker bracelets than Phil Hellmuth, but despite that record haul, Hellmuth is currently tied with billions of other people with exactly zero World Poker Tour titles. A late night flight out of the Bahamas will see Hellmuth attempt to change that at the WPT World Championship at Wynn Las Vegas.

Phil Hellmuth will arrive in Las Vegas late Tuesday and begin the quest for his first WPT title.

As if there was ever any doubt, Phil Hellmuth is on his way to Las Vegas to play the WPT World Championship. Hellmuth had been in the Bahamas for WSOP Paradise and after busting the Main Event on Tuesday, the “Poker Brat” booked a late-night flight to Las Vegas and should arrive in time to play Day 1B on Wednesday.

Hellmuth broke the news on his X account just after boarding.

Hellmuth has not cashed in a WPT live event since January 2019, when he finished 102nd in the Borgata Winter Poker Open for $7,176. Despite his WSOP success – 17 bracelets and counting – Hellmuth has so far failed to see his name etched on the Mike Sexton WPT Champions Cup.

His most recent final table – and closest call to date – came in August 2017 when he finished runner-up to Art Papazyan in the WPT Legends of Poker at the Bicycle Casino in Los Angeles.
