Los Angeles, CA (January 26, 2016) – Season XIV of the World Poker Tour® will come to an historic conclusion in South Florida this April, as the WPT® and Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood, Florida today announced an additional $2 million guaranteed $10,000 Main Tour event, giving players one more chance to secure a massive prize and qualify for the inaugural WPT Tournament of Champions.
As previously announced, the World Poker Tour returns to Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino on April 15 for the $2 million guaranteed, $3,500 buy-in WPT Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown. Home to the largest (1,795 entries) field in WPT Main Tour history, Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino has played host to three consecutive 1,000-entry fields on the World Poker Tour, generating more than $14 million in combined prize pools over the last two seasons alone.
Following the WPT Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown, poker’s elite will come together on April 22 to make history in the televised, rake-free WPT Tournament of Champions. All 21 Season XIV WPT Champions will automatically qualify for the WPT Tournament of Champions, and will be joined by fellow members of the WPT Champions Club to try and cement their place in poker history.
To add to the already can’t-miss festival, the WPT and Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino are giving players a second chance to lock up a seat in the WPT Tournament of Champions in the WPT Seminole Hard Rock Poker Finale. Kicking off on April 17, this $10,000 buy-in event boasts a $2 million guarantee and a freeze out format. Registration is open until the beginning of Day 2 on April 18, allowing players who reach the WPT Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown final table an opportunity to parlay their winnings into even more cash.
The winner of the $2 million guaranteed WPT Seminole Hard Rock Poker Finale will be the very last player in Season XIV to qualify for the WPT Tournament of Champions.
Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino also announced the addition of a $1 million guaranteed, $25,500 buy-in High Roller on April 19. The two-day tournament features unlimited re-entries, allowing poker’s elite and most wealthy enthusiasts to indulge in as much action as they desire while in South Florida.
To allow players to maximize their value while at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, all three WPT final tables will be staggered (see below). In addition, all three WPT final tables will be live-streamed, and the WPT Tournament of Champions will be filmed by the World Poker Tour’s award-winning production team for broadcast on FOX Sports Networks in August of 2016.

The WPT Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown festival begins on March 31 with a $500,000 guaranteed, $350 buy-in event, followed by a $1 million guaranteed, $570 buy-in tournament. The Seminole Hard Rock and WPT Foundation Present: Jason Taylor’s Charity Poker Tournament kicks off on April 13. Benefitting the Jason Taylor Foundation, one half of each $300 buy-in to the charity tournament will be donated to help the pro football legend’s non-profit organization support and create programs that facilitate the personal growth and empowerment of South Florida’s children in need by focusing on improved health care, education, and quality of life.
