Play has concluded for the day here at the Holland Casino and of the 194 entries, 99 players have made it through to Day 2. That means in addition to the 130 players that entered yesterday, and the 54 that managed to make it through Day 1A, the total entry count currently stands at 324, with 153 already through to the second day of action. Players still have until the start of play on Day 2 to re-enter.

The man topping the chip counts is WPT Champions Club member, Giacomo Fundaro, with 234,000. The Italian won WPT Mazagan in Season 11, and finished runner-up to Tony Dunst at the WPT Caribbean Poker Tour in Season 12. He also finished runner-up to Victoria Coren-Mitchell in EPT10 San Remo. The man knows how to play. One other WPT Champions Club member made it through to Day 2. Season 11 WPT Emperors Palace Poker Classic winner, Dominik Nitsche, ending the day with 13,600 chips.  Also through to Day 2 are Sorel Mizzi (141,200), David Boyaciyan (85,200), Pieter de Korver (81,000), David Yan (79,000), Sylvain Loosli (78,000) and Steve O’Dwyer (72,900). Amongst those who were not so fortunate were WPT Champions Club member Michael Mizrachi, Bryn Kenney, Dan Heimiller, and Paul Newey.

As part of a new initiative the daily chipleader (Giacomo Fundaro) in Amsterdam’s Main Event receives the popular ‘Chipleader Varsity Jacket’ as is invited to wear it in the tournament the following day.
