Day 3 started with 65 players, and only 16 will re-appear when Day 4 commences at 2pm (CET) tomorrow. 45 players each received a minimum payment of €6,000, and the player who exited in the bubble position was Senh Ung. The money bubble was only two hands old when the man from Birmingham in the UK moved all-in, holding ace-king, and found a caller in the shape of David Hudson, also from Birmingham in the UK, holding pocket queens. What are the odds? Hudson’s hand held, and Ung left the room to muted celebrations.

Sorel Mizzi

The man leading the final 16 players is the man who was leading when this thing started way back on Day 1A. The Swede Fredrik Andersson quietly dismantling stacks on the way to a 1,412,000 haul. Two more players have seven figure sums. Joep van den Bijgaart, and the dangerous Sorel Mizzi have 1,029,000 & 1,007,000 respectively.

WPT Champions Club member, Giacomo Fundaro, is still in the hunt for a second title. The Italian ended the day with 849,000 chips, and WPT Amsterdam High Roller winner, Jason Wheeler, is still on track for the old one-two. Wheeler ending the day with 584,000, after Mizzi’s queens cracked his aces, to stop his seemingly unstoppable roll. Wheeler beat Jack Salter in the heads-up phase of that HR, and his young brother Louis is also in the final 16 with 880,000 chips. WSOP-APAC Main Event champion Scott Davies also made it through.
