Only 16 members of the WPT Champions Club remain in the first-ever WPT Champions Challenge bracket. Round 2 saw the departure of our first No. 1 seed, Carlos Mortensen, who fell to Erik Seidel in the Hearts Region.
Gus Hansen (Spades), Anthony Zinno (Diamonds), and Daniel Negreanu (Clubs) all remain, and are all one match away from their respective regional finals.
All four No. 4 seeds — Alan Goehring (Spades), Marvin Rettenmaier (Hearts), Mohsin Charania (Diamonds), and Jonathan Little (Clubs) — have advanced to the Round of 16.
The highest seeds remaining (11) are the legendary Doyle Brunson, who faces fellow cowboy Hoyt Corkins in the Round of 16, and Phil Laak, who faces his good friend Antonio Esfandiari.
