The WPT National Philippines event wrapped up its second starting flight on Tuesday, adding 176 entries to the 92 from Day 1A to create a total field size of 268. There were 36 survivors from Day 1A, and they will join the 78 survivors from Day 1B to return tomorrow with 114 players. The field will play into the money on Day 2, battling for a piece of the prize pool worth PHP 18,327,200 ($389,800).
The chip leader from Day 1B is Chane Kampanatsanyakorn (pictured) with 178,400 in chips, followed by Kent Del Resario with an even 170,000. They both trail Day 1A chip leader Jiabin Cui, who starts Day 2 with 188,800.
Even though the Triton Super High Roller Series Cali Cup played to a winner last night, three of the players from that event also bought into the Main Event today — Winfred Yu, Dominik Nitsche, and Brian Rast. Nitsche and Rast didn’t make it through, but Yu (39,000 in chips) survived.
