The opening day of the Season XV partypoker.net World Poker Tour® Montreal Main Event took place on Friday, and 135 entries were tallied. From the field, 47 advanced to Monday’s Day 2, and it was WPT Champions Club member Eric Afriat who bagged the lead with 214,500 in chips.

3.  Richard Mask  –  174,100
4.  Daniel Le  –  167,300
5.  Francois Gobeil  –  157,600

Outside of the top 10, the likes of Jeff Rossiter (113,200), Esther Taylor-Brady (106,000), Allen Kessler (67,700), Sam Chartier (61,000), and Aaron Massey (57,300) all bagged chips. The WPT’s own Mike Sexton also advanced to Day 2, finishing with 64,600 in chips.

On the losing side of things, WPT Raw Deal analyst Tony Dunst was eliminated, as were Mike McDonald, Kyle Bowker, and Keven Stammen. With two more starting flights and players allowed to re-enter, these players should certainly be seen back in action at Playground Poker Club.

The second starting flight will kick off Saturday at 11 a.m. local time, and you can follow coverage right here on WPT.com.
