China’s Ju Hui Cheng was crowned champion of the Season XV WPT National Korea Main Event, taking home $71,843 (KRW 80,310,000) for the victory.

The $1,750 (KRW 2,000,000) buy-in event attracted 152 entries, and the final table lasted five hours before Cheng was crowned the winner.

Finishing in second place was Russell Thomas.

Cheng has played poker four about five years, and he mostly plays online. He learned to play poker from reading poker books and blogs, and continues to remain fascinated by the game.

In order to take his efforts to the next level, Cheng hired a poker coach and turned pro. His hard work and dedication to the game have come full circle with this WPT National Korea victory, and he plans to join us at WPT National China to go for another title on Oct. 28 at MGM Grand Sanya.
