On Monday, Leo Tran won the partypoker WPT National Rozvadov €1,100 Main Event for €75,000. Tran topped a field of 339 entries at King’s Casino Rozvadov for his largest career score.

Prior to this event, Tran had just one cash on record that came from May 2016, worth €1,600. Less than three full months later, he can now call himself a WPT National champion.

Tran defeated Harmjan Poel in heads-up play after the two battled for approximately an hour and a half. The final hand occurred when the money went in on the turn of a board that read Club JDiamond 7Club 4Heart 6. Tran held the Spade 10Club 8, and Poel had the Club 9Spade 7. Thanks to a river ten, Tran earned the title.

Patrick Marquardt placed 10th, scoring a payday of €5,315. His finish allowed him to win the partypoker last-longer promotion. Marquardt outlasted the other 64 competitors in the promotion and earned an additional  €1,100 in prize money.

The top 36 finishers reached the money in WPT National Rozvadov. Martin Kabrhel, third on the Czech Republic’s all-time money list according to the Hendon Mob database, placed 19th for €3,268, and Vojtech Ruzicka squeaked into the money with a min-cash worth €2,245.

Next up for the WPT National schedule is Montreal, with an event at Playground Poker Club to take place Aug. 19-25, 2016.
