For the third consecutive year, the WPT® National will take to Holland Casino in Valkenburg. After a sellout event the first year and nearly 400 entries the second year, WPT National Valkenburg is a one of the most popular poker tournaments in Europe.
The premier event on the schedule is the €1,100 Main Event, starting Sept. 29, 2016, and running through Oct. 2. This event will have two starting flights where the players will play 40-minute levels, and then Day 2 and Day 3 will have 60-minute levels. Competitors will begin with 30,000 in tournament chips.
The festival starts Sept. 27 with the €250 Speed Warm Up, followed by the €550 Hyper Turbo on the same day. Then on Sept. 28, things really get going when the €2,000 High Roller begins.
On top of all the prize money and glory to be had, the winner of the WPT National Valkenburg Main Event will be awarded a ticket to the bwin.be WPT National Brussels Main Event on Oct. 13. Additionally, the winner of the WPT National Valkenburg High Roller will earn a ticket to the bwin.be WPT National Brussels High Roller on Oct. 12.
The bwin.be WPT National Valkenburg schedule also includes a €250 Turbo event on Oct. 1 and a €330 Big Stack event on Oct. 2.
There will be live satellites running at Holland Casino Valkenburg, starting as low as €30, but also partypoker.com will host seat-only qualifiers to the WPT National Valkenburg Main Event in plans to give away five seats a week in September.
Holland Casino owns 14 properties across the country, and venues in Breda and Amsterdam will be hosting live satellites in September to qualify to the WPT National Valkenburg Main Event.
With close proximity close to both the German and Belgium borders, plus just a short distance from France, Holland Casino Valkenburg offers an opportunity for players to travel from a number of countries. Of course, players from Holland will be plentiful, as Valkenburg is only a two-hour drive from Amsterdam, but this tournament’s popularity and location will truly make it an international affair.
Valkenburg is located in the southern point of Holland on the top of Cauberg Mountain, one of the most beautiful spots in South Limburg. This is where the Holland Casino property, with a circular tournament room that hosts 25 poker tables with breathtaking views of the landscape.
