The Season XVI WPT Choctaw festival takes place July 20 through August 8, featuring the $3,700 Main Event that boasts a huge $2 million guaranteed prize pool. It’s the third time the World Poker Tour has traveled to Choctaw Casino Resort in Durant, Oklahoma, and the past two events have drawn WPT Choctaw Main Event fields of more than 1,000 entries each.
Part of the fun of traveling the poker circuit is getting to hang out with friends and fellow players at different venues all over the world. Every place the WPT travels to offers something unique, and there are some great things to do off the felt at Choctaw Casino Resort.
Gilley’s
Music, food, and beer – how can you go wrong! Gilley’s is home to a lively Southern atmosphere perfect for a night out away from the poker table. The energetic bar and restaurant is home to dancing, live music performances, and a wild mechanical bull that is tailor made for prop bets.
Bar service is open Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m., and noon to 2 a.m. on Sunday. Dining can be enjoyed Monday through Thursday 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., or 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on the weekend.
The District
The District at Choctaw Casino Resort in Durant, Oklahoma, is the perfect place to have some fun with friends, and there’s plenty to do to keep your mind off poker. Everyone knows poker players are some of the most competitive people in the world, so why not battle with some friends in the 3,600-square-foot arcade, at the 20-lane bowling alley, or inside the two-story laser tag arena?

The District is open Sunday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to midnight, and on Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 a.m.
Oasis Pool
If you’re staying at Choctaw Casino Resort in Durant, Oklahoma, the Oasis Pool provides a beautiful, relaxing escape, and that can be just the thing one needs during a poker competition.
Loungers are complimentary, but can be reserved, with cabanas and VIP seating available for rental. If renting a cabana, it comes with lounge chairs, a nesting ottoman, and a double sun deck lounger. Cabanas receive dedicated food and beverage service with a full restaurant menu, a refrigerator stocked with water, and a personal safe to store your important belongings. Each cabana also comes equip with a television if you’d like to catch the game while hanging out by the pool.
Cabanas are available for $275 for a half day and $425 for a full day on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. On Monday through Thursday, prices are 50-percent off.
