WPT Alpha8 London kicked off on Monday at 1:30 p.m. local time at the luxurious Palm Beach Casino. Brits Talal Shakerchi, Stephen Chidwick, and Sam Trickett were among the first players to turn up, and they were quickly joined by defending champion and two-time WPT Alpha8 champion Philipp Gruissem, along with Daniel Cates, Dan Colman, Vladimir Troyanovskiy, Erik Seidel, Isaac Haxton, Max Altergott, and a host of other elite professionals and wealthy amateurs.
