TurkerCongratulations to Sertac Turker, winner of the WPT National Cyprus event at the Merit Grand Casino.

Turker, who has only been playing for a short while, defeated a field of 259 entrants to claim the title and the largest payday of his career so far, walking away with $115,000. Turker entered heads-up play as an underdog against seasoned pro Oleg Suntsov, who held the chip lead through much of the match, but who saw his fortunes change in a fateful hand where he flopped trip Queens while holding AQ, only to see Sertac, who was holding pocking Kings, come back from behind and score a key double up when he rivered a flush.

The match ended soon after when Oleg moved in with pocket 10s only to find himself dominated by Turker’s pocket Aces.
