Long a highlight on the World Poker Tour®, this year’s WPT® Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown is giving players even more reason to head to South Florida for Season XII’s penultimate event with a prize pool guaranteed to be worth at least $5 million.

Running from April 10 – 16 at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida, the televised event features a $3,500 buy-in and three Day 1s with unlimited re-entry. With its $5 million guarantee, Seminole Hard Rock is promising to nearly double last year’s $2,547,400 prize pool which paid event champion Kevin Eyster more than $660,000 in first-place prize money.

“Our partners at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino aren’t shy about creating massive, must-play poker events,” said WPT President, Adam Pliska. “We’re excited to be partnering with them for this historic event, which is the largest guaranteed prize pool ever placed on a tournament with a $3,500 buy-in.”

Seminole Hard Rock’s Poker Showdown series begins March 27 with the $560 buy-in Deep Stack event which features its own $1 million guarantee. Other events throughout the series include bounty tournaments, Omaha tournaments, and mix-game events with buy-ins starting as low as $150. A full range of satellite tournaments into the WPT Seminole Hard Rock Showdown Main Event are also available, including two, $385 buy-in, 25-seat guarantee mega-satellites on April 8 and April 9.

Sponsored by ClubWPT.com, the WPT Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown will be filmed for broadcast on FOX Sports Networks and will feature WPT Commentators Mike Sexton and Vince Van Patten, along with Anchor Lynn Gilmartin, and Raw Deal Analyst Tony Dunst
