The WPT World Online Championships: A Complete Guide to Satellites and Ticket Drops

Jul 1, 2020

By Lisa Yiasemides

Featuring combined guarantees of $100 million, the WPT World Online Championships is going to be HUGE! A full series of summer tournaments have been meticulously planned and there will certainly be something for everyone when it all kicks off on July 17, as WPT and partypoker partner up once more.

If two weeks feels like a long time to wait, don’t worry, there are plenty of ways to start playing today. The WPT team has been working tirelessly behind the scenes, cooking up some fantastic opportunities for players to get ahead of the game and bag themselves Championship tickets to what promises to be a world-class series of events.

Designed with online and live players in mind, the festival will replicate the experience and quality of a WPT live tournament and hand-deliver it straight to the comfort of your home. Key features include:

Massive guarantees

Real names

Only two Day 1s for Championship events

Only one re-entry to Championship events

Entry into the WPT Champions Club for winners

Each week of the eight-week festival, a new set of satellites will take place and they feed directly into the respective Championship event the following weekend.

All Championship events will be accompanied by a ‘Mini’ and a ‘Micro’ offering and they will take place on the same day, with one exception.

The one exception is the crown jewel of the entire series: The WPT World Online Championship Main Event. In order to allow players to fully focus on the flagship tournament, it will be the only one to take place on the weekend of August 29-30, with the Mini and Micro editions running the previous weekend (August 22-23).

All you have to do is look out for comps that state “WPT Seat Added” and play. The winner of those tournaments will bag themselves a seat into one of the WPT World Online Championship events.

Ticket Drops have been given away since June 16, but there is plenty of the $500,000 dollar give-away still to be won as the promotion continues until July 16.

The featured tournaments will vary to maximize player choice, so don’t forget to check back each day to find out which comps could net you a share of the $100 million series prize pool.
