Hey everyone, hope everyone’s well and safe – just wanted to check-in.

For the last few months, I have been working with my son, Duke, creating and writing a new TV series. it’s called “Duke of the Valley.”

I can best describe it as “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” meets “Melrose Place.”

Based loosely on true stories from my father, actor Dick Van Patten’s apartment building in the San Fernando Valley. In which he owned, and only rented out mostly to friends and hapless unemployed actors among other eccentric grifters.

The short synopsis goes like this:

Duke Patten an aspiring actor lives in a San Fernando Valley apartment building owned by his crazy uncle Jimmy. The tenants are all eccentric lovable losers and add color and mayhem to Duke’s overall life.

It was very difficult to put something together during these Covid days where we had to get everyone tested every day and if anyone showed any signs of the virus, we would be shut down but we prevailed and everyone stayed healthy and we finished principal photography!

I wrote a special character for my good friend Caitlyn Jenner who I’ve known for over 40 years and she loved the script and jumped in to do it! It will be her first major acting role since the 90s so it is very exciting to us and her millions of fans!

We are talking to different networks now to distribute and I will keep everybody abreast of where it will play and when.

Besides that, I miss being on the road at live WPT events and can’t wait to get back out there and see so many of the faces I know and love!

Until next time play loose and don’t forget to bluff on the river!
