Las Vegas, NV (July 11, 2022) – As part of the previously-announced WPT® World Championship at Wynn Las Vegas on December 1-20, the WPT Ladies World Championship will be added to the lineup of events. The WPT Ladies World Championship will take place December 16-18 and carry a $1,100 buy-in for women, and offer a $200,000 guaranteed prize pool.

“We are committed to increasing the number of women in our global poker community, and will continue to introduce thoughtful initiatives both live and online at ClubWPT and WPT Global,” said Angelica Hael, VP of Global Tour Management at World Poker Tour®. “The WPT Ladies Championship will prominently showcase today’s talent and set the stage for future high-profile tournaments.”

The WPT World Championship will feature more than 20 events, three of which will be televised. Those include the final tables of the previously-announced WPT World Championship and WPT Prime Championship, as well as the recently-announced WPT Ladies World Championship. The final table of the WPT Ladies World Championship will be recorded for World Poker Tour linear and over-the-top platforms, and showcase the final six players to millions of viewers all over the world.

“Wynn Las Vegas is proud to host this marquee event for women,” said Ryan Beauregard, Executive Director of Poker Operations at Wynn Las Vegas. “We are thrilled to include this event as part of December’s festivities, and round out the WPT World Championship lineup.”

Players who reach the final table will play out the remainder of the tournament on December 18, with recorded coverage airing in the upcoming WPT XX season. The televised component is made possible by World Poker Tour’s in-house production department, Studio.

“It is our privilege to give the WPT Ladies World Championship the biggest stage possible,” said Loc Sondheim, Vice President of Studio. “Sharing this event with as many WPT viewers as we can is part of our efforts to share the game of poker far and wide.”
