Los Angeles, CA (November 19, 2018) – Today, the World Poker Tour® announced a portion of the second half of the Season XVII WPT® Main Tour schedule, featuring 10 premier poker events in the U.S., Canada, and Europe.
The 2019 stretch starts where Season XVII began at Gardens Casino in Hawaiian Gardens, CA. The $10,000 buy-in WPT Gardens Poker Championship takes place January 12-16 with the final table to be played at the HyperX Esports Arena Las Vegas at Luxor Hotel & Casino. Season XVII opened at Gardens Casino with Simon Lam defeating 584 entries to win more than $565,000 in the $5,000 buy-in Gardens Poker Festival.
The Gardens Poker Championship is the first Main Tour event in World Poker Tour history to have the final table played and filmed for television at the HyperX Esports Arena Las Vegas.
WPT and their partner, partypoker LIVE, join together for their next Main Tour event, and the first in Russia, when WPT Russia takes place from January 21-27 in Sochi, Russia. The event includes a $3,000 buy-in along with a $1.5 million guarantee.
The WPT Borgata Winter Poker Open is up next from January 27-31 at Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa in Atlantic City, New Jersey with a $3,500 buy-in. Earlier in Season XVII, Erkut Yilmaz won the WPT Borgata Poker Open to win more than $575,000. The final table takes place at the HyperX Esports Arena Las Vegas.
Next up, the WPT goes to Canada for the Fallsview Poker Classic at Fallsview Casino Resort in Ontario, Canada from February 23-25 with a CAD $5,000 buy-in. Mike Leah won his first WPT Main Tour event in Season XVI at Fallsview versus a field of 517 entries to win more than CAD $450,000.
Upon return to the United States, the World Poker Tour goes to Thunder Valley Casino Resort in Lincoln, CA for WPT Rolling Thunder. The event is a $5,000 buy-in for the first time in WPT Rolling Thunder history and takes place from March 8-12.
WPT and partypoker LIVE team up once again for WPT Barcelona. The event takes place at Casino Barcelona from March 10-17 with a €3,300 buy-in and €3 million guarantee.
The WPT stays in Europe for the second annual WPT European Championship. The Season XVII edition takes place at Dusk Till Dawn in Nottingham, United Kingdom from April 7-14 with a buy-in of £3,300.
For the first time in WPT Main Tour history, WPT Choctaw has a second event on the schedule. WPT Choctaw takes place from May 17-20 at Choctaw Casino Resort in Durant, Oklahoma. Brady Holiman won the first WPT Choctaw of the season in August to collect more than $469,000 versus a field of 755 entries. The final table of WPT Choctaw takes place in May at the HyperX Esports Arena Las Vegas.
The open portion of Season XVII concludes at ARIA from May 27-31 with the WPT ARIA Summer Championship. The event is a $10,000 buy-in and takes place in the same time slot as when Darren Elias won his record-breaking fourth WPT title at the WPT Bobby Baldwin Classic in Season XVI.
Season XVII completes from June 1-3 with the Baccarat Crystal WPT Tournament of Champions. The $15,000 buy-in event is open to all WPT Champions Club members. The final table plays on June 3 at the HyperX Esports Arena Las Vegas. Matt Waxman is the defending champion after beating a field of 80 entries to win more than $463,000 in Season XVI.

All players who reach the final table in a Main Tour event to be played at the HyperX Esports Arena Las Vegas will receive travel accommodation and hotel stay.
