World Poker Tour® Returns to Jeju Shinhwa World for WPT® Korea

After a successful run in Korea last July 2023, the World Poker Tour® is back in Jeju Island, South Korea.

Jeju Island, South Korea (Feb. 14, 2024) – After a successful run in Korea last July 2023, the World Poker Tour® is back in Jeju Island, South Korea.  The 2024 installment of WPT® Korea promises exciting, action-filled events during the 10-day festival from March 25 to April 3 happening at Landing Casino, Jeju Shinhwa World.

The Championship Event guarantees KR₩ 2 Billion (~ US$ 1.5 Million) for a buy-in of KR₩ 2.8 million (~. US$2,000).  The event starts with a KR₩ 40 million (~ US$30,000) buy-in Super High Roller event on March 25 and will end with another High Roller event with a buy-in of KR₩ 20 million (~ US$15,000) on April 2.

“We continue to expand ways that poker players around the world can play World Poker Tour events,” said WPT CEO Adam Pliska. “After a very successful WPT Korea stop in 2023, we made it a priority to return in 2024 and are looking forward to an even bigger turnout.”

Tao Yin from China proved to be the last man standing in the WPT Korea 2023 Main Event and brought home KR₩ 295,000,000 (~USD 229,370).  The Main Event had 758 entries and went beyond its guarantee accumulating a total prize pool of KR₩ 2,246,947,400 (~US$1,700,000).

WPT Korea events will be led by tournament director Juan de Jesus, who has had more than 20 years’ experience handling tournament events at Foxwoods Resorts Casino and with World Poker Tour (WPT), World Series of Poker Circuit Events (WSOPC), European Poker Tour (EPT), and PokerStars Caribbean Adventure (PCA).

The WPT has once again partnered with the prestigious Jeju Shinhwa World where players have a choice of where to book their stay between the three hotels in the property – Landing Hotel, Shinhwa Hotel or Marriott Hotel.  Whichever hotel players stay at, they will be able to receive special booking rates.
