WPT Alpha8, World Poker Tour’s new series of super high-roller poker tournaments, premieres on FOX Sports 1 at 9pm ET (6pm PT) on Sunday, March 30.

With buy-ins starting at $100,000 per event, this exciting new series features some of poker’s top professional players competing alongside the world’s wealthiest amateur enthusiasts for multi-million prize pools at some of the most incredible gaming destinations around the globe, including London’s elegant Palm Beach Casino, Johannesburg’s luxurious Emperors Palace Hotel & Casino, and the gorgeous resort at Christophe Harbour in St. Kitts.

The premiere episode takes place at the WPT Alpha8 Florida event from the prestigious Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida, and features some of the biggest names in poker, including JC Tran, Jason Mercier, Erik Seidel, Steven Silverman, Isaac Haxton, Andrew Lichtenberger, Jason Koon, Matt Glantz, Dan Shak and Daniel Alaei. As a frequent host of many WPT Main Event and Regional tournaments in the burgeoning Florida poker market over the past 11 seasons, Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino has earned a reputation as one of the region’s elite casino properties, making it an ideal first home for WPT’s newest and most exclusive event.

Befitting an entirely new tournament series, WPT Alpha8 will feature a unique, modern set and will be hosted by fresh, new talent, including Lynn Gilmartin, who will serve as the show’s Anchor. Joining Lynn on set for the Fox Sports 1 broadcast will be two of poker’s most popular personalities – Ali Nejad and Olivier Busquet – who will provide commentary throughout the tournament.

Airing Sundays at 9pm ET/6pm PT, WPT Alpha8 becomes a key part of the Fox Sports 1 primetime line up and joins an already impressive lineup of sports programming that includes MLB, NASCAR, UFC, soccer, and college basketball and football.
