World Poker Tour ambassadors Steve Aoki and Brad Owen, as well as some of your favorite WPT Talent, are featured in the brand new Poker Heroes NFT collection produced by Web3 studio GAMAVRS. In partnership with WPT Global, a World Poker T the Poker Heroes project offers owners valuable perks and special access from within WPT Global.

The Poker Heroes project launches with fifteen of the game’s biggest celebrities taking part. In addition to Aoki and Owen, Poker Hall of Famer Phil Ivey and high-stakes legends Tom Dwan and Patrik Antonius have joined the collection. The collection will also include NFTs of WPT Commentator Vince Van Patten, anchor Lynn Gilmartin, and WPT Executive Tour Director Matt Savage.

Maria Ho, Andrew ‘LuckyChewy’ Lichetnberger, Joseph Cheong, Johnnie ‘Vibes’ Moreno, Maria Konnikova, Joe ‘Daddy’ Stevenson, and Adam Owen round out the first batch of celebrity collectables. While those celebrity NFTs will belong to their likeness, everyone will have an opportunity to get in on the Poker Heroes project with as many as 9,999 Access NFT set to be minted.

“Our avatars are built with 100% utility in mind and will act as access NFTs. Think of them as verified NFT profiles on the WPT Global app, and come with valuable perks and access on top” says Meysam Moradpour, General Manager at GAMAVRS. “Players will immediately know if they are playing against the real Steve Aoki, based on his NFT profile, which have a different shape and size than common profiles inside the WPT Global platform.”

In addition, every couple of weeks the GAMAVRS team will run splashy limited-time offers for holders to further reward them for their loyalty.

Players who score a Poker Heroes NFT will be able to use that avatar as their own while playing on WPT Global, but that’s just the beginning of its utility. Each Poker Heroes NFT comes with its own poker platform “superpowers” including $100,000+ worth of freeroll tournaments, participation in a $1 million giveaway, access to an exclusive Poker Heroes Discord channel, VIP access during select WPT Live Event, and even the ability to battle against celebs like Steve Aoki on WPT Global.

“Our poker-themed NFTs are really ‘Access NFT’, so we will initially launch with 9,999 avatars for poker enthusiasts around the globe and expand based on user demand. It’s not about scarcity for us, but more about access for holders”, says Moradpour.

The initial pre-mint of 250 Poker Heroes sold out and the next opportunity to join the project will take place on Thursday, May 12 when another 2,000 avatars will be generated.

Poker Heroes isn’t GAMAVRS first foray into the NFT space as they previous partnered with Phil Ivey to bring his “A Legendary Bluff in Poker History” to market back in October 2021.
