World Poker Tour Championship Event Final Table Will Be Broadcast on FOX Sports Networks Starting Sunday, June 30

Just one week after they finish shining under the lights at the WPT LA Poker Classic, poker’s brightest stars will head north to San Jose, CA to compete in one of poker’s truly unique events, the $7,500 buy-in WPT Bay 101 Shooting Star running from March 4 – March 8.

Featuring a $2,500 bounty on the heads of some of the game’s best-known players, the WPT Bay 101 Shooting Star is one of the season’s most-anticipated events for both pro and amateur players. “The atmosphere at Bay 101 is always electric with some of the most enthusiastic fans coming to get a glimpse of the world’s best and most celebrated poker players,” said WPT President Adam Pliska. “Unlike any other event of its kind, WPT Bay 101 Shooting Star has the excitement of a Hollywood movie premiere with the intensity of all-star competition. It’s simply one event that anyone who loves poker should not miss.”

Players already confirmed to play this year’s event – and who will have bounties on their heads – include WPT cast members Mike Sexton, Vince Van Patten, and Tony Dunst, WPT Season 11 Ones to Watch members Amanda Musumeci and Jason Somerville, and WPT Champions Club members Antonio Esfandiari, Barry Greenstein, Christian Harder, Dwyte Pilgrim, and Daniel Negreanu. In addition to any bounties they may collect, the Day 1A and Day 1B chip leaders will each receive a bonus of $10,000.

As home to some of the World Poker Tour’s most passionate fans, it’s not unusual to see crowds lining the hallways of the Bay 101 Casino in search of autographs from players and WPT cast members. Fans who want to get even closer to the action are invited to hang out at the WPT Royal Flush Girl Social Bar where they can get to know the beautiful WPT Royal Flush Girls and their favorite poker pros.

Mike Sexton and Vince Van Patten will call all the action from their broadcast booth when the last six players take to the felt on March 8. As always, they’ll be joined by anchor Kimberly Lansing and Raw Deal analyst Tony Dunst who will be on hand to break down key hands throughout the tournament.
