Los Angeles, CA (September 8, 2014) – Following recording-breaking fields and increased integration between Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa and both partypoker.com and BorgataPoker.com, World Poker Tour® today announced two more televised Main Events at Borgata during Season XIII: the WPT® Borgata Winter Poker Open and the season-ending WPT World Championship. Combined with the WPT Borgata Poker Open and the inaugural WPT Monster Invitational in September, Borgata will play host to an unprecedented four televised events during Season XIII.

After boasting back-to-back thousand-entry fields in consecutive seasons, the WPT Borgata Winter Poker Open sponsored by partypoker.com and BorgataPoker.com returns on January 25, 2015. Andy Hwang won the event in Season XI, earning $730,053, and Anthony Merulla pocketed $842,379 as the champion in Season XII. Also sponsored by partypoker.com and BorgataPoker.com, the WPT World Championship returns to New Jersey on April 24, 2015. Keven Stammen hoisted the WPT Champions Cup™ at Borgata at the conclusion of Season XII, outlasting 328 entries and capturing the first-place prize of $1,350,000, a Hublot King Power Unico Watch, and a pair of 24K® Monster headphones.

The WPT Borgata Winter Poker Open and the WPT World Championship will generate a total of six hours of television coverage that will air on FSN in 2015. Combined with the WPT Borgata Poker Open and the WPT Monster Invitational, Borgata will be showcased for 11 hours on national television in Season XIII. You can catch the World Poker Tour at 8 p.m. and 11 p.m. every Sunday on FSNcheck your local listings here.

“As a long-standing partner of the World Poker Tour with an unparalleled tournament staff, Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa is the perfect venue to host four televised WPT events in Season XIII,” said WPT President Adam Pliska. “We are thrilled to return to Borgata for the season-ending WPT World Championship after a successful transition in Season XII, and with the ability to generate massive prize pools, draw the biggest names in poker, and qualify players to events on both partypoker.com and BorgataPoker.com, we expect to see three tremendous Main Events in Atlantic City this season.”

Borgata Senior Vice President of Operations Joe Lupo adds, “The commitment from the World Poker Tour for two more televised events in 2015, including the return of the flagship WPT World Championship, further cements Borgata as the premiere poker destination on the East Coast and the dominant force in online gaming in New Jersey.”

Players are encouraged to bring their laptops to Borgata and play online while they partake in all live events. The Garden State Super Series (GSSS) kicked off this past weekend on partypoker.com and BorgataPoker.com, exceeding all three guarantees, and runs through  September 21 during the WPT Borgata Poker Open. While in Atlantic City, players will be able to easily deposit and withdraw funds at the cage at Borgata and compete for $1,000,000 in guaranteed prizes during the GSSS, including the $200,000 Guarantee Main Event on September 14.

“We’re delighted to co-sponsor three major WPT televised events at Borgata during Season XIII,” said partypoker Director of Poker Jeffrey Haas.  “As an online network, we plan to complement every major live televised WPT event with an online series like the Garden State Super Series and New Jersey Championship of Online Poker. Allowing players to transfer money to and from partypoker.com and BorgataPoker.com at the casino cage at Borgata will further synchronize the live and online poker experience, and this increased synergy will attract more people to the WPT, Borgata, and online gaming in New Jersey.”
